About the Artist

Robert Merten was born in Newark, New Jersey. Food was the common language of love growing up and Robert began baking with his grandmother at the age of nine.

Robert's career took him to Washington, D.C., where he was an interior designer, floral designer and always, a baker. After living in the nation's capital, Robert moved south to Beaufort, S.C. with his partner Les Harding.
